Big Letdown
After a suspenseful season, I must say I am a bit disappointed with last night's season finale of Nip/Tuck (here is a detailed summary). If you have it recorded and have not seen the episode yet stop here.
The first hour was great, much drama and action you'd come to expect from the show. Topper was finding out Quentin was missing his big chorizo. Hard to guess after all the latin heat he was giving off. So right off the bat that should disqualify him from being the Carver, right? But I remember one thing a buddy of mine said when we hypothesized that Julia might be the Carver: (s)he was using a strap on. With that, I convinced myself that Quentin had to be the carver. Who else would have known the exact surgeries Kimber had and the know-how to reverse them? Had to be a plastic surgeon with a personal tie to both of them. Also, when Sean and Christian were repairing the sorority girls and Sean stated that, "these wounds look like they were made by and amateur..." I sort of figured out that the Carver wasn't acting alone. With Quentin himself being "carved up" and tied to his bed someone else had to do it.
But who? I'll tell you who - London special detective Kit. Why would you need to bring in a specialist from London to solve the Carver case when you have David Caruso and the CSI:Miami team in your backyard? That sealed the deal, for me, that Kit had to be his accomplice. But to find out that Quentin and she were brother and sister was a kick in the head.
Now, you might be saying to yourself "Sure it's easy for you to say you guessed it all before the end of the show...now that you've seen it." But honest to goodness, that is what made the whole episode so disappointing. The whole plot was that transparent. My hopes for next season have one foot in the crapper.
